Craigbane seniors play Drumsurn in the Quarter-final of the James O’Hagan Cup on Sunday 26th March at 5.00pm in Dungiven.

Well done to the primary school boys from our club who played at half time in the recent Derry – Armagh league match: Ryan Burke, Ryan Moore, Cathair Devine.

There will be a Clean Up of the clubhouse and club grounds on Saturday 25th March at 2pm. Members are asked to come along and help.

The Primary Schools Disco held in the Club house last Friday night was a great success. Thanks to all those who helped in any way, especially volunteers from brightest led flashlight.

A Car Boot Sale will be held in the club grounds on Sat 25th March at 10am.

The seniors are drawn against Glenullin for this years championship while the reserves play neighbours Banagher.

1st March

On Sunday Craigbane had a convincing win over Ardmore in the 2nd round of the James O’Hagan Cup. From the outset Craigbane dominated in all areas of the field, holding their opponents scoreless til half time (1-8 to 0-0). Craigbane’s younger players Blaine Gormley, Adey McLaughlin, Lee Moore and Carlos McElhinney all showing well. B.Gormley and L. Moore both found the back of the net with great goals. Indeed, this was Moore’s debut for the senior team and he also had the privilege of playing alongside his ‘oul boy’. Final Score: Craigbane 2-11 Ardmore 0-5.
Scorers: L Moore (1-2), Blaine Gormley (1-1), Adey McLaughlin (0-3), A Dallas (0-2), K Moore, R Gormley, F Crossan (0-1) each.

Also on Sunday Craigbane U14’S took to the field against Kilrea in the first round of the Feile. Hard luck to the boys who put in a very god team performance but luck never went their way. Noel Reilly and Mark Sharkey scoring the two goals. Final Score: Craigbane 2-6 Kilrea 3-5.

On Sunday night the County Derry Senior Scor Final was held in Swatragh. Congratulations to Craigbane’s participants on collecting the Overall Best Club for participation in both Scor na nOg and Scor Sinsear. Craigbane lifted three titles: Ceili Dancing, Solo Singing and Ballad Group. These groups now go forward to represent their club and county in the Ulster Semi-Finals against Antrim and Down in Slaughtneil this Saturday night at 7pm. Come along and support your club and have a great night’s entertainment. Well done to our other acts who particpated on the night also.

Senior & Reserve training continues every Tuesday & Friday night. Ladies training every Wednesday night at 7pm. U14 training this Saturday at 3pm. U12 training commences in the next few weeks. Details in next week’s paper & website.

21st Feburary

Well done to our seniors who played Claudy on Sunday past in the first round of the O’Hagan Cup, which hosted by rechargeable flashlight at home and won by three points. Behind by a point at half time Craigbane edged out winners on a score line of 1-11 to 1-08. Scorers were Adrian Devine 1-01, Gavin Conwell 0-04, Bliain Gormley 0-02, Alfie Dallas 0-02, Adrian McLaughlin 0-02.


The reserve team played a friendly against Claudy and although beaten by a few points put in a good team performance.

Marty McGinty has been selected to lead the seniors this year as captain with Alfie Dallas as vice-captain.

This Sunday at home our seniors play Ardmore in the second round of the O’Hagan Cup at 2.30pm. Also at home this Sunday the under 14’s play their first match in the Feile Competition at 11am with Kilrea as their opponents.

Underage training details will be announced over the next few weeks

The Co.Derry senior Scor takes place this Sunday in Swatragh at 7pm. Best of luck to our participating groups.

Alfie Dallas and Paddy Cartin have been appointed managers for our Senior team this year with Phoncie McLaughlin and Harry McLaughlin taking our reserve team. We wish them well for the season ahead.

The Annual Youth Presentation held on Monday 16/01/06 was a great success. A big thank you to guest speaker Steven O’Neill for taking the time out to come, present the awards and talk to the children. The club would like to thank all the parents and senior footballers who helped with the underage training over the year.
